What Powder Coating Is

Powder coating is a dry finishing process. Finely ground powder — pigment and resin — is sprayed onto metal with an electrostatic charge that makes it cling, then the part goes into an oven where the powder melts, flows and cures into a hard, even finish. There are no solvents, very little waste, and the result is a coating thicker and tougher than most spray paint. It resists chips, fading and corrosion, which is exactly why it holds up so well in humid, salty Gulf Coast air. Most powder coating jobs start with blasting — cleaning the part down to bare metal so the powder has a clean, profiled surface to bond to.

Proud to Serve Pearland & the Bay Area

We serve customers from Pearland across Brazoria, Harris and Fort Bend counties. Mobile blasting comes to your home, business, marina, plant or job site.

What's Included

What Can Be Coated

Brackets, signs, equipment, boat and marine hardware, motorcycle and ATV parts, trailers, and architectural and commercial metal. We also powder coat wheels and automotive parts, and gates, fences, railings and patio furniture.

The Prep

Every part is cleaned and blasted to bare metal first — the finish is only as good as what's under it. Old paint, rust and grime come off so the powder bonds to clean metal.

Colors & Finishes

Gloss, satin, matte, textured, metallic, candy and clear — in a wide range of colors. We can color-match to a sample you bring.

Custom & Commercial

One-off custom jobs and color matching for a single part, plus commercial powder coating for businesses, contractors and production runs.

Why This Matters Here

The Houston area sits in a hot, humid subtropical climate with muggy air most of the year, and that moisture speeds up rust on bare and chipped steel. Salt air off Galveston Bay reaches League City, Webster, Nassau Bay, Seabrook, La Porte and Baytown, and that salt eats at exposed metal even faster. Strong summer sun fades and chalks ordinary paint. A cured powder finish is thicker and tougher than most spray paint, with no solvents, so it resists chips, fading and corrosion better — which is why it's the right choice for metal that lives outside down here.

Care & Prevention

Rinse powder-coated items with fresh water and a mild soap, more often near the bay where salt settles on everything. Avoid harsh solvents and abrasive cleaners that can dull the finish. Touch up chips before rust creeps underneath, and call us if you see any bubbling — catching it early keeps a small spot from becoming a big one.

Powder Coating Colors & Finishes

A powder coat finish feels smooth and hard to the touch — it flows into an even film when it cures. Gloss is shiny and easy to clean; satin is a soft sheen; matte is flat; textured hides imperfections and adds grip; metallic has a flake shimmer; candy is a translucent color over a base for depth; and clear protects a bare-metal or polished look. Single stage is one coat of powder with no clear. Two-stage adds a base plus a clear or color coat — that's how candy, metallic and chrome-look finishes are built. Custom powder coating and color matching means we can work to a sample you bring.

Powder Coat Aluminum

Aluminum takes powder well, and it's common on boat and marine hardware, patio furniture and wheels. The right prep and the right powder for the alloy matter — aluminum is softer than steel, so the blasting media and pressure are chosen to clean it without pitting or warping it. Tell us what the part is and we'll choose both.

Commercial Powder Coating

For businesses, contractors and production runs, commercial powder coating means consistent finishes across a batch, faster turnaround on volume, and a durable coating that stands up to use. Whether it's a run of brackets, a set of equipment frames or repeated work for a fabricator, we'll quote it by the batch.

A Note on Mobile Powder Coating

Blasting and prep can be done on-site, but the powder has to cure in an oven, so the coating itself is always done in the shop. Mobile and on-site work means blasting and prep — the coating is a shop job. For anything that can't come to the shop, see our dustless and media blasting page.

Powder Coating Cost & Prices

What drives powder coating cost: the size and number of parts, how much old coating and rust has to come off, the surface or substrate, the finish and number of coats, your color choice, masking, any repairs, and removal and reinstallation for installed pieces. We quote every job after we see it.

Job typePriceWhat affects it
Small parts (brackets, valve covers)Quoted after we see itSize, number of parts, finish, color
Wheels (set of 4)Quoted after we see itWheel size, condition, finish, tire removal
Patio furniture setQuoted after we see itNumber of pieces, condition, finish

Price depends on size and number of parts, how much old coating and rust must come off, the surface or substrate, the finish and number of coats, color choice, masking, repairs, removal and reinstallation for installed pieces, and travel distance for mobile work. Your exact price is set after we see the item.

Why Choose Us for Powder Coating

Right Finish, Right Part

We match the powder and finish to what the part does and where it lives.

Blast to Bare Metal

Proper prep means the powder bonds to clean metal, not old paint.

Color Matching

Bring a sample and we'll match it for custom and commercial jobs alike.

Powder Coating vs Paint

A cured powder finish is thicker and tougher than most spray paint. It resists chips, fading and corrosion better and contains no solvents. Paint still makes sense where you need a thin film, a touch-up, or a finish that isn't oven-curable — and we'll tell you when that's the better call.

Is this the right fit? The right method is decided after we see the item or surface. Some items may not suit a given process — for example thin sheet metal, plastic, glass, rubber or cast parts that may warp, pit or outgas, or items with lead paint that need special handling. Send a photo or call and we'll tell you straight.

Frequently Asked Questions

Is powder coating heat resistant?

Cured powder holds up to heat far better than most spray paint, which is one reason it's used on engine parts, grills and equipment near heat. Exactly how much heat a given finish can take depends on the powder, the substrate and how it's used — so tell us what the part does and we'll tell you whether powder is the right call.

How long does powder coat last?

A properly prepped and cured powder finish lasts a long time — it resists chips, fading and corrosion better than most spray paint, especially in Gulf Coast weather. The exact lifespan depends on the part, where it lives, the finish and how it's cared for, so we don't promise a set number of years. Good prep and rinsing off salt and grime go a long way.

Can aluminum be powder coated?

Yes. Aluminum takes powder well — it's common on boat and marine hardware, patio furniture and wheels. The right prep and the right powder for the alloy matter, so we choose both after we see the part.

Can you paint powder coated aluminum?

You can, but a cured powder finish is already tougher than paint, so repainting usually means stripping the old powder and re-coating rather than painting over it. Painting over powder can peel if it isn't prepped right. We'll tell you the best path after we see it.
