Coating for Home & Property Metalwork

Outdoor ironwork takes the worst of Gulf Coast weather — sun, salt and humidity — and spray paint just doesn't hold up to it. We powder coat wrought iron and steel driveway gates, fence panels, pool fences, security doors and window bars, stair, porch, balcony and dock railings, patio furniture, outdoor metal décor, mailbox posts and light fixtures. The process is the same powder coating we use on everything else — blast to bare metal, then cure a tough finish in the oven — just sized for the pieces around your home.

Proud to Serve Pearland & the Bay Area

We serve customers from Pearland across Brazoria, Harris and Fort Bend counties. Mobile blasting comes to your home, business, marina, plant or job site.

Why This Matters Here

Gates, fences, railings and patio sets live outside all year in humid, salty coastal air. Salt air off Galveston Bay reaches League City, Webster, Nassau Bay, Seabrook, La Porte and Baytown, and it eats spray paint fast — chalking, flaking and rust underneath. Hurricanes, tropical storms and flooding — Ike in 2008, Harvey in 2017, Beryl in 2024 — leave fences and outdoor fixtures rusting. Strong summer sun fades and chalks ordinary paint. A cured powder finish is thicker and tougher, with no solvents, so it resists chips, fading and corrosion better — which is why it's the right choice for outdoor ironwork down here.

Care & Prevention

Rinse coated outdoor metal with fresh water and mild soap, more often near the bay where salt settles on everything. Avoid harsh solvents and abrasive cleaners. Touch up any chips before rust creeps under the finish. Store patio cushions off coated furniture when it's wet, and keep up with a rinse after storms so salt and debris don't sit.

Restoring vs. Replacing Old Ironwork

Most old ironwork doesn't need replacing — it needs blasting and a fresh coat. We blast the rust and old paint off down to bare metal, prep it, and lay down a new cured powder finish. If a piece is structurally sound, restoring it costs less than replacing it and keeps the look you already have. If it's too far gone, we'll tell you straight. We don't fabricate or install gates and fences — we coat what you've got.

Outdoor Colors & Textures

For outdoor ironwork, textured black is the classic — it hides wear and adds grip. Bronze and coastal tones — sand, slate, sage — sit well with Gulf Coast homes. Satin and matte finishes cut the glare of the sun. We can color-match to your home or your existing ironwork. Tell us the look you want and we'll point you to the right finish.

Large or Installed Pieces

For large or installed pieces — a driveway gate, a long run of railing, a dock — removal, transport and reinstallation are discussed when you book. Some pieces we can blast and prep on-site with mobile blasting; others come to the shop to coat in the oven. We'll tell you which your piece needs after we see it.

A note on lead paint. Paint on homes, brick or metal from before 1978 may contain lead. Older painted surfaces may need to be tested for lead and handled under the rules that apply, and we never blast lead paint without precautions.

What Gate & Fence Coating Costs

What affects the cost: the size and number of pieces, how much rust and old paint has to come off, the finish and number of coats, color choice, and removal and reinstallation for installed pieces. We quote every job after we see it.

Job typePriceWhat affects it
Driveway gateQuoted after we see itSize, rust, removal & reinstallation

Railing (porch/balcony/dock)Quoted after we see itLength, condition, access

Price depends on the size and number of pieces, how much rust and old paint must come off, the finish and number of coats, color choice, and removal and reinstallation for installed pieces. Your exact price is set after we see it.

Frequently Asked Questions

Can you powder coat my gate without replacing it?

Yes — in most cases we restore and re-coat existing ironwork rather than replace it. We blast off the old paint and rust, prep the metal, and lay down a new cured powder finish. If a piece is too far gone structurally, we'll tell you straight. But a sound gate, fence or railing just needs the right prep and a fresh coat.

Do you remove and reinstall gates and railings?

For large or installed pieces, removal, transport and reinstallation are discussed when you book. Some pieces we can coat in place with mobile blasting and prep; others come to the shop to coat in the oven. We'll tell you which your piece needs after we see it.

Can rusty patio furniture be powder coated?

Yes. We blast the rust off down to bare metal, repair what needs repairing, and coat it. Wrought iron and aluminum patio furniture both take powder well — aluminum with the right prep for the softer alloy.

Will powder coating hold up near the bay?

Better than spray paint. A cured powder finish is thicker and tougher, with no solvents, so it resists chips, fading and corrosion better in humid, salty coastal air. That's exactly why it's the right choice for outdoor ironwork on the Gulf Coast.
